“Vic was my Mum, Victoria. She was an amazing cook and loved to feed people, making everything from scratch. The call would go out, “Vic’s For Dinner!”, bringing family, friends, coworkers and neighbors together to share a meal where we would catch up on each other’s lives. Sometimes it was just the six of us and other times there were twenty.
I appreciated these meals more as I joined the workforce, got married and had kids of my own. It was such a huge relief and excitement to get the call. Not only did I not have to organize dinner for my lot but I knew the food was going to taste fantastic, and I like to eat! Mum’s cooking brought us all around the table to share conversations, forge personal connections and make great memories.
Vic’s Scratch Kitchen is a nod to my Mum. I share the same love of feeding people and have experienced firsthand the benefits a traditional sit-down meal helps in cultivating happy, healthy families. Although I won’t ever get the call again, I can pass it on. I want to provide the same relief and excitement I felt knowing what awaited me after a busy day at work and a bunch of hungry kids to feed. So gather your family, friends and neighbors, whether it’s two or twenty, and tell them it’s “Vic’s For Dinner!”.
